2 Weeks in New York
… here are a few pics I took with my iPhone during my trip to NY.
I took a picture of my niece Lauren sporting a Big Phony t-shirt. It used to be her big brother Colin’s shirt but now she wears it. I know all about hand-me-downs. She doesn’t seem to mind. It was so wonderful spending time with the kids. They’re growing up so fast!

I was able to get my NY pizza, White Castle, bagel, falafel, Chinese food fixes while I was there, to name a few. I decided though, that if I could bring one thing over from NY that we can’t get in LA, it would be Dunken Donuts. Best iced coffee hands down.

Here’s a funny pic of a pair of homemade sandals that my friend Carlos was forced to make because him and his wife were moving and packed/sent most their stuff to North Carolina. I was very impressed, haha. Maybe we can mass produce them as Big Phony slippers.

Coming to a store near you... Big Phony Slippers!
This is and was pretty random. Walking around St. Marks Pl. and I saw a red Delorian. It was rad.

The show in NY went well I think. I had been super sick the night before because of some raw chicken I ate and felt like passing out half way through the set but I managed to get through it all. Thanks to all that came out, and in the rain and all! Special thanks to Ben Shanker for making it down all the way from Boston! Oh, and I didn’t forget about the t-shirt. I’ll send it out soon as I make some more!
Here’s the setlist from that night:
The Living Room 7/23/09
The Bully
Where’s My June Carter?
Words That Define
Girls Like You Don’t Go For Guys Like Me
New Song I haven’t name yet about love or something like that
Everything Always
Short Intermission
I Love Lucy
She’s the Kind of Girl (new song)
Someone (this was an encore but I think I kind of gave it to myself because no one was set to play after me. I’m a loser, haha)
Oh yeah, I also played a set at the Asian American International Film Festival. It was fun. Saw some great films (Claustrophobia, White on Rice, and Children of Invention). Met some really cool people, got a nifty gift bag full of goodies, drank free Stella (beer). I also entered a raffle through Toyota at the festival to win a car. From what I understand they’ll pick a winner by the end of the year. That or they just duped me into getting my email address. Oh well, wish me luck.
Have a great weekend y’all!
