Cue “Chariots of Fire” theme song…

September 7th, 2008 by Big Phony

Big Phony ran the Los Angeles Nike 10k Human Race last week! His first race ever! Decided to run for the Lance Armstrong Foundation because it was either that or for the “WWF.” At first I thought it had stood for “World Wrestling Federation” but found out later that it was actually for the “World Wildlife Fund.” I feel bad for thinking they were trying to raise money for men in spandex and fake punches to the face.

Nike Run

Out of nearly 13,000 or more runners we placed at 2,645 and finished at 57:19 in the 10k (6.2 mile) race. Not sure what that means. Around the 2nd mile I even pulled something in my right leg but am happy to report that I trucked through and kept a steady pace. Could not walk right for the next two days though.

Nike Rank

So glad to have run and hope to do it again, it was so much stinkin fun. AND, there was BEER at the finish. Who could ask for more? Kanye West and Common also put on a show for us at the end, fireworks and all.
