Jelly Jars
…so far my trip to NY is going well. I’ve spent some quality time with both friends and family, have had many beers and lots of good eats. I must have gained a good 5 pounds just from last night’s lard fest. I’m staying with my good friend Andy in Williamsburg and we hit up this bbq joint called Fette Sau which serves up all things bbq and a fine selection of beer served in jam jars. Afterwards we went to the corner deli and I got a peppermint tea and Hostess’ Cherry Pie.
There’s a White Castle 2 blocks away.
I like it here, but things are more pricier than in LA. And I have to say I’m not liking the new developments and fancy modern buildings that are springing up like unwanted weeds. They’re ugly. I don’t like the “upper class” hipsters in their expensive vintage clothing either, haha. They make me feel uncool, but in reality I’m cooler than they. (update: actually, I take that back… I’m not cool)
I was walking down Bedford this morning looking for a place to grab a coffee and roll. Instead, I ended up buying an old copy of Arthur Miller’s “Death of a Salesman” from a kid on the street. The previous owner made little notes here and there and underlined random words and descriptions such as “…Sexuality is like a visible color on him…” on page 19 of Act One. First page of Act Two they shaded in the spaces of the “A” and “O” with pencil. That’s totally something I would do, haha.

I liked this post. I might go to see the Philharmonic play in Central Park tonight. Might. If you wanna go, e-mail me. Otherwise, I’ll see you at your show on Thurs.
