Will Play For Food
…so I spent the past month in New York City. Stayed with some great friends, hung out with family, 3 day wedding, saw some groovy shows, drank beer by the liter, hit up six flags, and spread more of that Big Phony werd…
The show at The Living Room went so well I could hardly believe it. Thanks so much to everyone who came out and bought cd’s and shirts! I paid my monthly bills just in time because of you. I’m a lucky sob. Also, got to play with Dan Cho and Jonny Flower, both heroes of mine.
Last week I was walking down St. Marks with some friends and stopped by the automat “BAMN.” It’s a vending machine fast food joint that serves up hot finger foods for quarters. I had my guitar on me so one of the workers there says if I play a song they’ll give me free food. How could I say no to that? I sang “I Love Lucy” and they gave me a shepard’s pie and a bottle of water.
My friend Wendy (myspace.com/thesweethurt - great music) was there to capture the moment.
I met a wonderful photographer by the name of Cindy Hwang (”CYJO”) who photographed Big Phony for a project she’s been working on called “The Kyopo Project.” Cindy was nice enough to send me one of the portraits she took of me with my guitar.
My buddy Jos came back from his second tour in Iraq this past weekend so we decided to all take off work and go to where else but Six Flags Great Adventure. It was tons of fun and not too crowded. We even got these things called “Flash Passes” that lets you cut the lines and not have to wait. Amazing. We got yelled at for horsing around on the Log Flume though. It felt great, we felt young again. I also won a prize at the “We’ll guess your age” booth. I think all Asians win easily at that one.
Check out these cool journals that a new friend of mine gave me called START HERE. They’re groovy because once you fill one up you can get another one which interlocks to the first, second, and so on..
So much more happened while I was out in New York. I’ll work on more updates soon. Take care for now y’all.

Six Flags was great! I felt like I was a teenager again… except for the extra 70lbs i now carry.
